Champagne, camera, action
I have just returned from two days of shooting a short film in Champagne for our client Lanson International – ‘oh the glamour’ I hear you cry. But it wasn’t all oysters and champagne, darling; it was 7am kick offs, charging across champagne to capture the last picking and pressing of the harvest and hours spent filming in chilled cellars, and French Brasseries before hitting the sack around midnight.
The film, which will be available to watch on the new UK Lanson website launching in 2011, captures the history of the house, engages with the close knit ‘family’ of workers and shows the entire champagne crafting process. There was the occasional glass of champagne along the way, but for professional purposes only, of course, and Lanson’s CEO Philippe Baijot and champagne’s longest serving Chef de Cave, Jean Paul Gandon, were both incredibly hospitable. Both did a fantastic job of getting key messages about Lanson’s crisp style champagnes across.
Job done and that’s a wrap!
